Base Salary
$175k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve the tools, techniques, and architecture supporting Swayable’s high-performance analytics engine.
- Productize AI, machine learning, and data analysis capabilities for the core product.
- Architect, maintain, and optimize distributed and parallel computing systems.
- Design scalable and performant software solutions using maintainable, testable code.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and research staff to build features and solve novel problems.
- Work across software engineering, data visualization, and scientific computing.
- Mentor junior engineers and document and communicate implementation tradeoffs.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience building scientific or quantitative data-intensive software.
- Expertise in the scientific Python stack, object-oriented development, test-driven development, vectorized code, and machine learning.
- Expertise architecting, maintaining, and optimizing distributed, parallel computing systems.
- Knowledge of evolving ML and AI operations tools.
- Knowledge of software architecture and scalable, performant solution design.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to code quality.
- Preferred: an MSc or PhD in STEM.
- Preferred: thorough knowledge of Linux.
- Preferred: experience with Celery and MongoDB.
- Preferred: experience mentoring junior engineers and communicating technical tradeoffs in writing.
