Base Salary
$145k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, validate, and deploy autonomy features and associated tests for autonomous trucks.
- Diagnose system-level issues across sensors, compute, networking, controls, and software using logs, metrics, and on-vehicle tools.
- Lead technical execution during deployments by managing bring-up plans, requirements, risks, and cross-team fixes.
- Support customer-site field deployments and perform hands-on on-vehicle debugging.
- Integrate new truck platforms, sensors, and vehicle signals; calibrate systems and tune performance.
- Collaborate with hardware, operations, safety, and product teams to deliver robust and maintainable autonomy behavior.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional, non-internship software development experience.
- Strong programming skills in at least one of Python, C++, Java, or C#, with object-oriented design and maintainable systems experience.
- Proven robotics engineering experience with system-level ownership in integration, debugging, performance tuning, field support, or deployments.
- Ability to design and debug scalable software systems with strong diagnostics, logging, metrics, fault isolation, and testability.
- Working knowledge of robotics concepts and mathematics including state estimation, Kalman filtering, localization, planning, and controls.
- Ability to define scope, interfaces, milestones, and success criteria in ambiguous environments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical partners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects through planning, execution, and deployment.
- Experience deploying autonomy or robotics systems in the field, including on-call or deployment rotations, safety-critical troubleshooting, or customer-site support.
- Experience with sensor fusion, safety systems, camera pipelines, ML for perception, vehicle interfaces such as CAN, or calibration workflows.
- Familiarity with Linux, Git, CI/CD, simulation, and test harnesses.
