Responsibilities
- Drive the architectural roadmap and technical direction for delivery and deployment platform capabilities.
- Lead complex, cross-team initiatives from design and stakeholder alignment through implementation and production readiness.
- Own resilience, disaster recovery, and release safety programs for CI/CD infrastructure.
- Build and evolve pipelines, build systems, artifact management, release automation, and self-service developer tooling.
- Establish on-call, incident response, gameday, documentation, and other operational excellence practices.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, and delivery of complex technical work.
- Represent the team in cross-organizational technical forums, vendor relationships, and architecture reviews.
Requirements
- 5+ years leading the technical direction of complex systems and influencing other engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous projects through architecture, stakeholder alignment, implementation, and production deployment.
- Experience driving adoption of platform capabilities across teams without direct reporting authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication, technical documentation, presentation, and code review skills.
- 5+ years building and operating CI/CD systems and 5+ years with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- 3+ years with build systems such as Gradle, Maven, Bazel, npm/yarn, Rush, or Make.
- Experience with artifact management platforms such as JFrog Artifactory or ECR.
- 5+ years with AWS, including EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and networking.
- 3+ years with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- 5+ years with Kubernetes, including deployment lifecycle management, rollout strategies, workload identity, and cluster troubleshooting.
- 5+ years as a software developer using Go, TypeScript, Kotlin, Java, or Python.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and experience implementing reliable automation and tooling.
- Experience managing GitHub at organizational scale, including Actions workflows, organization policies, OIDC or federated identity, and security controls.
- Operational experience with on-call rotations, incident response, postmortems, playbooks, and gamedays.
- 2+ years collaborating with remote teams across geographies and time zones.
- Preferred experience with progressive delivery, canary releases, blue/green deployments, automated rollback, Prometheus, Grafana, observability, DORA metrics, and AWS serverless patterns.
