Responsibilities

  • Define use cases and execute validation plans for robotics software stacks, hardware subsystems, and customer deployments.
  • Develop automated test suites for ROS2 nodes, Nav2, fleet APIs, and continuous validation pipelines using Python, C++, pytest, gtest, and gmock.
  • Build Gazebo/Ignition and Isaac Sim scenarios for warehouse layouts, obstacle avoidance, dynamic traffic, and multi-robot coordination.
  • Set up and automate Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop rigs for AMR controllers, LiDAR emulators, and safety sensors.
  • Validate LiDAR, depth cameras, IMUs, wheel encoders, odometry, SLAM, localization, path planning, fleet orchestration, and VDA5050 compliance.
  • Execute AMR safety protocols and assess performance, latency, throughput, stability, battery management, and docking behavior.
  • Measure validation KPIs including defect escape rate, scenario coverage, reliability, and multi-robot deployment stability.
  • Mentor robotics validation teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize customer experience.

Requirements

  • 6–12 years of experience in QA or validation, including 7+ years in robotics or AMR systems.
  • Strong Python automation skills and C++ experience for ROS2 integration.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS2, Nav2, colcon, Gazebo/Ignition, and Isaac Sim.
  • Expertise in LiDAR, depth cameras, IMU, odometry, and sensor calibration.
  • Familiarity with fleet management systems, traffic control, and the VDA5050 protocol.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins and Docker-based test environments.
  • Knowledge of mobile-robot functional safety standards including ISO 3691-4 and ISO 13849.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Robotics, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred experience includes multi-robot coordination, dynamic obstacle handling, SLAM, AMR safety PLCs, zone scanners, emergency-stop circuits, warehouse automation, WMS integration, OPC-UA, performance benchmarking, reliability testing, and telemetry dashboards.
