Responsibilities
- Architect, build, document, and ship reliable data products and services, including pipelines and APIs.
- Build, scale, and maintain data lake infrastructure and underlying pipelines using distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark.
- Explore large-scale datasets, identify patterns, quantify product impact, and design useful systems and metrics.
- Apply AI to improve the development process and the quality of software and data products.
- Collaborate with data engineers, ML engineers, and product teams to align data capabilities with business needs.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and data scientists and support a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience working on data-intensive systems, ideally with direct data science or applied ML exposure.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals applied to data and ML workflows, including clean architecture, testing, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience with distributed data processing frameworks and building or maintaining data lake infrastructure at scale.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, with AWS preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Python, pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and SQL.
- Ability to inspect raw logs, design metrics, and identify data quality regressions.
- Working knowledge of experimental design, statistical inference, and A/B testing methodology.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and English-language technical explanation skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt; expertise, passion, and drive to learn are valued even when candidates do not meet every requirement.
