Base Salary
$173k - $273k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction, architecture, and operational standards for the complete identification ecosystem.
- Lead multidisciplinary technical teams across readers, hardware, firmware, connectivity, cloud, backend, data, and user application domains.
- Define device-cloud interfaces, secure provisioning, OTA/firmware update strategies, and device management at scale.
- Oversee data architectures, event-driven pipelines, messaging systems, integrations, and REST/HTTP APIs.
- Coordinate technical delivery with the ID Product Manager and align decisions with product and business objectives.
- Ensure production systems meet reliability, maintainability, scalability, monitoring, SLA, incident-management, and post-incident-review expectations.
- Foster technical excellence, continuous learning, innovation, collaboration, and measurable delivery outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end device-to-cloud systems and data-driven products involving reader devices or IoT hardware, connectivity, backend services, and user applications.
- Strong understanding of data architectures, event-driven pipelines, messaging systems, and REST/HTTP APIs.
- Experience with device-cloud interfaces, secure provisioning, OTA/firmware update strategies, and device management at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams across hardware, firmware, cloud, and application domains.
- Experience with production-system monitoring, SLAs, incident management, and post-incident reviews.
- Understanding of security practices including encryption in transit and at rest, authentication, authorization, and key management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to influence teammates, stakeholders, and executives.
- Preferred skills include business enterprise architecture, capability development, emerging technologies, financial management, innovation, organizational structures, portfolio management, professional development, solution architecture, stakeholder relationship management, and strategic planning.
- Advanced degree is preferred.
