Thought MachineResponsibilities
- Design and build solutions for highly complex, ambiguous technical problems.
- Shape architecture, engineering standards, technical direction, and adoption of new tools and practices.
- Provide technical leadership through code review, guidance, mentoring, delegation, and knowledge sharing.
- Investigate complex production and non-local issues across services, environments, clusters, and products.
- Drive improvements to operational and production support processes.
- Own high-complexity work items end to end and manage delivery across teams or departments.
- Contribute to product strategy, vision, future solutions, and long-term roadmaps.
- Lead technical interviews for subject matter experts and leadership roles.
- Communicate with senior stakeholders, build consensus, and drive organizational change.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in modern backend languages, ideally Go or Python.
- Experience with large-scale, cloud-native systems.
- Proven technical leadership solving highly complex problems of undefined scope.
- Extensive experience investigating issues across multiple environments, clusters, and products.
- Ability to drive systemic improvements to operational and production support processes.
- Strong mentoring, collaboration, stakeholder management, communication, and organizational change skills.
- Ability to influence strategic departmental direction and uphold engineering best practices.
