Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, highly available backend services and APIs.
- Design backend solutions for distributed systems running in Kubernetes-based and cloud environments.
- Collaborate with product, front-end, data, and machine learning teams on technical designs and integrations.
- Implement automated testing, code review, CI/CD, instrumentation, and operational runbooks.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve system resilience.
- Build internal tools, platform services, automation frameworks, and developer self-service tooling.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills designing, building, testing, and maintaining production-quality code.
- Proficiency in Go and/or Python.
- Strong production experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerized application platforms, Terraform, Helm, and Docker.
- Strong Linux systems knowledge, including troubleshooting, scripting, performance analysis, and systems debugging.
- Experience with internal tools, platform services, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Understanding of distributed systems, networking, security, and observability.
- Ability to troubleshoot application, runtime, container, network, and cloud-service issues.
- Preferred experience with internal developer platforms, service mesh, secrets management, policy enforcement, multi-cluster Kubernetes, and platform or site reliability engineering.
- Preferred knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, AWS Identity and Access Management, and secure infrastructure design.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring peers, or influencing engineering standards is preferred.
