Responsibilities
- Analyze flight data and extract features related to droid performance.
- Identify failure modes and improvement opportunities in motion planning under uncertain conditions.
- Apply data analysis, statistics, and machine learning techniques to improve delivery reliability.
- Design and run validation experiments across real-world conditions such as driveway geometry, car presence, and time of day.
- Develop tools and pipelines to evaluate motion planning models, quantify uncertainty, and connect improvements to field performance.
- Collaborate with perception, autonomy, and flight testing teams across the robotics stack.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with learning-based planning methods.
- Ability to write safe and performant code and learn new programming languages as needed.
- Strong statistical reasoning and a validation mindset, including experiment design, bias and variance analysis, confidence quantification, and result interpretation.
- Ability to structure ambiguous real-world problems into hypotheses and executable plans.
- Able to work in person at the office in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
