Responsibilities
- Define and own the comprehensive testing strategy for a mission team’s domain in partnership with the QA Team Lead.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated API, UI, and mobile tests as the primary automation contributor.
- Work with Product Owners and Developers from refinement onward to embed quality through a shift-left approach.
- Manage automation targets and use MTTD, MTTR, and defect escape data to identify high-risk areas.
- Drive adoption of central automation frameworks, CI/CD quality gates, and reliable fail-fast deployment workflows.
- Collaborate with the Tooling Team on custom helpers and test-data generators.
- Coordinate testing across microservices, security, and performance, including OWASP ZAP testing.
- Coach developers and junior QA engineers on automation practices and test design patterns.
- Use Claude and GitHub Copilot for architecture exploration, incident investigation, and test generation.
- Define test-data and environment strategies and apply component, service virtualization, and contract testing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in QA Automation or SDET roles with demonstrated quality leadership within an Agile team.
- Strong proficiency in C# or JavaScript/TypeScript for automation.
- Experience testing complex financial systems such as card issuing, transaction processing, or credit risk.
- Hands-on experience with UI automation tools including Playwright or Cypress.
- Experience with REST Assured or other API testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with Azure, Git, and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
- Ability to influence without formal authority and encourage developers and Product Owners to prioritize automation and quality.
