Responsibilities
- Build and contribute to software products used by millions of businesses.
- Develop expertise in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or other technical areas while maintaining broad engineering knowledge.
- Learn and navigate unfamiliar systems and large codebases through independent research and collaboration with mentors or subject matter experts.
- Participate in code reviews and safely update production systems.
- Lead small projects independently and contribute to larger projects with peers.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development while rigorously reviewing, refining, and validating their outputs.
- Communicate work clearly to stakeholders, teammates, and other Stripe employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a directly related field by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience.
- No more than 18 months of professional experience, excluding internships.
- Programming experience through side projects, coursework, internships, or collaborative coding projects.
- Familiarity with programming fundamentals; Stripe primarily uses Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and understand them through independent research and mentorship.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and professional judgment when using AI development tools.
