Base Salary
$114k - $149k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain ground and flight software for spacecraft operations, mission control, and space missions.
- Translate system requirements into maintainable software and contribute to architecture, design decisions, performance, reliability, and reuse.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, mission designers, navigation engineers, and software teams on integrated spacecraft solutions.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerized development environments, software lifecycle improvements, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers through technical mentoring, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience developing software for spacecraft systems, mission control systems, or other complex engineering applications.
- Strong experience with C++, Python, or other modern programming languages.
- Experience contributing to software architecture and translating system requirements into software solutions.
- Familiarity with software development best practices, design patterns, version control, and code reuse strategies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active security clearance is preferred, or the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Preferred experience includes flight software, spacecraft autonomy, distributed systems, containerized deployments, DevOps practices, aerospace software architecture, national security or classified software environments, and an active TS/SCI clearance.
