Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable backend systems using Python and Django.
- Create new services, own critical integrations, and make architectural decisions supporting company growth.
- Develop and evolve frontend experiences using React and TypeScript.
- Lead complex initiatives from discovery through deployment and own solutions throughout their lifecycle.
- Drive engineering excellence through mentorship, architectural reviews, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
- Partner with Product, Data, and UX teams on experimentation, measurable outcomes, and customer value.
- Shape architecture for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
- Influence technical direction across teams and align engineers, managers, and stakeholders.
- Participate in the squad’s on-call rotation, stated as one week every five weeks.
Requirements
- Deep backend engineering expertise with the ability to deliver end-to-end full-stack solutions; approximately 85% backend and 15% frontend work.
- Experience designing and evolving large-scale web applications, well-designed APIs, distributed systems, high-volume data flows, and scalable architecture.
- Ability to make technical trade-offs balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, including influencing decisions, driving engineering practices, and contributing to architecture.
- Strong product mindset and ability to use experimentation, data, and customer insights to address ambiguous business challenges.
- Track record of independently driving initiatives from concept through delivery and measurable outcomes.
- Excellent collaboration, stakeholder management, and communication skills across engineering, product, design, and data functions.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Understanding of observability, reliability, monitoring, and operational best practices.
- Willingness to participate in the squad’s on-call rotation.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in AI tools, especially agentic AI software development lifecycle practices.
