Base Salary
$209k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and build greenfield, 0-to-1 consumer products from technical conception through deployment.
- Design and implement scalable distributed microservices with a strong emphasis on backend architecture.
- Develop across JavaScript and TypeScript while contributing to big data pipelines and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Partner with Digital Product Managers to define technical strategy and create high-performing consumer experiences.
- Participate in architectural design, code evaluations, hands-on coding, and technical decision-making.
- Mentor engineers, establish coding standards and design patterns, and support professional development.
- Lead architectural reviews, cross-functional engineering efforts, and large-scale technical initiatives.
- Implement observability and reliability practices and optimize performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field is required.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience is required; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies is required.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and 9+ years coding with more than two listed languages, including Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred experience includes open-source framework contributions, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred experience includes cloud troubleshooting, mentoring senior engineers, observability, reliability practices, architectural design reviews, coding standards, and enterprise or portfolio-level technology strategy.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, cross-functional engineering leadership, and large-scale technical initiatives is preferred.
