Responsibilities
- Design and prototype agent workflows with tool use, policy boundaries, and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Build and iterate on RAG over permissioned internal knowledge sources, improving corpus coverage, metadata, ownership, freshness, grounding, and citations.
- Prototype generative alert-response assistants using approved observability sources and traceable mitigation suggestions.
- Design and implement narrowly scoped, reviewed agentic remediation capabilities without autonomous production changes.
- Collaborate with platform and service teams to expose operational context safely to agents.
- Document experiments, limitations, evaluation methods, and safety assumptions, and ship changes through Git branches, merge requests, and meaningful commits.
Requirements
- Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Expected to graduate by Summer 2028.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools such as LLM APIs, assistants, or coding agents in real projects, preferably including agent construction with tools or orchestration.
- Experience with RAG, including retrieval design, chunking, evaluation, grounding, or production-minded prototyping using real or simulated internal knowledge-base data.
- Python experience for prototyping and integration, with comfort consuming and creating APIs, working with JSON, and understanding YAML configurations.
- Experience with Git workflows involving branches, merge requests, and meaningful commit messages.
- Strong judgment around data handling, including avoiding secrets in prompts and logs, minimizing sensitive data, and following internal policies.
- Preferred: Linux fundamentals, networking basics, Kubernetes fundamentals, and coursework or projects involving Kubernetes, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CI/CD, Terraform/Ansible, or AWS, GCP, or Azure.
