Base Salary

$99k - $157k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain database-driven applications and data management solutions for research study operations.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and PostgreSQL database objects, stored procedures, functions, views, packages, and queries.
  • Translate research and business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with researchers, analysts, data managers, and study staff.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and performance across study applications and databases.
  • Maintain, enhance, and refactor existing applications and database systems.
  • Develop and execute testing plans for database and application changes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support data collection, management, reporting, and delivery processes for WHI, MOSAAIC, and affiliated studies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and provide on-call support when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3–6 years of directly related experience.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL PL/SQL, JavaScript, and React.
  • Preferred experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL development, complex queries, stored procedures, database design, data modeling, data integrity, and performance tuning.
  • Preferred experience developing web applications with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, or Node.js.
  • Preferred familiarity with clinical research, public health, epidemiological, academic, or scientific research environments and datasets.
  • Preferred experience with Oracle Forms and Reports, statistical or research-focused applications, and Git.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
