Responsibilities
- Integrate, optimize, and maintain Wi-Fi and BLE protocol stacks on device platforms.
- Debug wireless connectivity issues involving throughput, range, coexistence, and roaming.
- Collaborate with antenna engineers on matching network tuning and radiation pattern optimization.
- Implement and test BLE Mesh and Wi-Fi EasyMesh networking protocols.
- Optimize wireless power consumption through duty cycling, listen intervals, and wake patterns.
- Develop RF test automation scripts for production-line calibration and testing.
- Support FCC, CE, BIS, and TELEC regulatory certification testing for wireless subsystems.
- Define roadmaps, plan requirements, make prioritization trade-offs, and deliver device software features with Alexa Devices and Alexa Cloud stakeholders.
Requirements
- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- 4+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Experience with RF lab equipment including VNAs, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and vector signal generators.
- Experience integrating, optimizing, and maintaining Wi-Fi and BLE protocol stacks on device platforms.
- Experience with BLE stack development or integration, including GAP, GATT, and L2CAP.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience with network capture and systems troubleshooting; Wi-Fi 6/6E or Wi-Fi 7; Matter; wireless coexistence; mesh networking; and wireless chip vendors including Qualcomm, MediaTek, Realtek, NXP, and Silicon Labs.
