Base Salary
$300k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write, test, and maintain agentic training code, examples, and documentation for Inkling and Tinker.
- Debug issues with open source developers and researchers, gather feedback, and improve fine-tuning and model deployment experiences.
- Partner with research and infrastructure teams to turn community feedback into improvements to models, Tinker, and post-training recipes.
- Build demos, integrations, and tools that improve adoption of Thinking Machines’ models.
- Represent the company through blog posts, talks, tutorials, livestreams, conferences, and meetups.
- Help shape the developer experience roadmap as models and platform features ship.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in developer relations, developer experience, or software engineering with significant open source or community-facing work.
- Strong software engineering skills and experience writing and shipping production-quality Python code.
- Hands-on experience fine-tuning, evaluating, or deploying large language models.
- Preferred: experience with supervised and reinforcement learning fine-tuning, post-training on new domains, and improving model capability.
- Preferred: experience contributing to, maintaining, or growing open source software libraries.
- Preferred: experience writing tutorials, cookbooks, or technical content.
- Preferred: comfort with public talks, livestreams, conferences, and meetups.
- Preferred: familiarity with multimodal text, image, and audio models and related training, fine-tuning, and inference tradeoffs.
