Responsibilities

  • Maintain and extend OpenTofu/Terraform infrastructure-as-code modules and reusable Azure infrastructure templates.
  • Automate environment provisioning across development and production, including backend state, pipelines, and state-change detection integrations.
  • Operate and improve AKS clusters, including node pools, autoscaling, ingress, cert-manager, networking, and workload deployment patterns.
  • Own platform reliability, observability, performance, SLOs, alerting, dashboards, auto-remediation, and long-term reliability improvements.
  • Troubleshoot cluster, networking, and workload deployment issues and lead root cause analysis.
  • Develop automation scripts and tooling using PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
  • Build and optimize Azure DevOps YAML pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, and blue/green or canary rollout strategies.
  • Collaborate with developers, platform engineers, security, and architecture teams in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Participate in on-call rotations if required.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with OpenTofu or Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Hands-on AKS expertise covering cluster operations, node pools, autoscaling, ingress, cert-manager, CNI, and workload deployment patterns.
  • Experience with Azure services including Azure Front Door, API Management, Azure DNS, Key Vault, managed service identity, networking, and Azure Entra ID.
  • Experience with Datadog, Log Analytics, and Azure Monitor.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Azure DevOps repositories, pipelines, and artifacts.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, DNS, private endpoints, certificate management, and secret management.
  • Strong debugging and operational experience with an SRE mindset.
  • Solid experience with DevSecOps architecture, processes, tooling, and observability practices involving logging, metrics, traces, and dashboards.
  • Experience with GitOps, ArgoCD, zero-downtime deployment patterns, Prometheus, or Grafana is desirable.
  • Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, or Terraform/OpenTofu certifications are desirable.
  • Experience with high-volume, low-latency SaaS systems; distributed and event-driven architectures; ingress solutions; IAM; authentication; or authorization is desirable.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent industry experience.
  • General knowledge of the insurance industry and appreciation of current and emerging technologies.
