Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the Real-Time Unified Observability roadmap across Real-Time Collections and Contributions.
- Develop hands-on C++ solutions in a low-latency environment.
- Embed observability practices across development, testing, pre-production, and production workflows.
- Design customer-centric SLIs and insight dashboards for the timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and stability of market data.
- Establish repeatable API-driven and version-controlled workflows for observability assets within build pipelines.
- Influence platform architecture and reliability decisions across engineering squads.
- Coach engineers, influence engineering culture, and drive cross-team alignment.
Requirements
- Base technical proficiency in C++ to engage effectively with full-time developers.
- Deep experience in observability engineering, including distributed tracing and real-time metrics pipelines.
- Strong leadership skills for coaching teams, influencing engineering culture, and driving alignment.
- Strong analytical ability to diagnose complex distributed-system behavior and customer impact.
- Effective communication skills for explaining system performance concepts to broader stakeholders.
- Preferred: experience designing SLIs and SLOs for latency-sensitive or market data systems.
- Preferred: ability to design and deliver end-to-end telemetry solutions across multiple teams and services.
- Preferred: experience with cloud-native, containerized, and Kubernetes environments.
- Preferred: proficiency with API- and GitOps-based workflows, configuration-as-code, and automated telemetry promotion.
- Preferred: experience with eBPF diagnostics, including tracing, network performance, and application profiling.
