Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components and optimize systems for large-scale data processing.
- Use data-plane platforms and distributed state-management tools for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing.
- Build fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, recovery-oriented design, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Develop load, performance, functional, fault-injection, and brown-out tests.
- Create alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Diagnose and resolve system issues, participate in operational support rotations, incident response, and root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts, troubleshooting tools, and infrastructure-as-code for cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance standards, documentation practices, and change-management procedures.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operational experience.
- Strong experience with data-plane architectures in networking devices and high-concurrency systems.
- Experience designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance network solutions using DPDK and C/C++.
- Experience with Linux operating systems or kernels, device drivers, performance testing tools, and distributed debugging tools.
- Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and in startup or fast-paced enterprise technology environments.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, teamwork, learning, and cross-team process skills.
