Base Salary

$79k - $210k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable distributed-system components and data-plane platform functionality for large-scale retrieval, storage, and processing.
  • Optimize high-concurrency systems and implement performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out testing.
  • Build fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
  • Create alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
  • Diagnose and resolve operational issues, participate in support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
  • Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code tooling for troubleshooting and cloud infrastructure maintenance.
  • Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance practices, documentation standards, and change-management procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operational experience.
  • Strong experience with data-plane architectures in networking devices and high-concurrency systems.
  • Experience designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance network solutions using DPDK and C/C++.
  • Working experience with Linux operating systems or kernels, device drivers, performance testing tools, and distributed debugging tools.
  • Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and in startup or fast-paced enterprise technology environments.
  • Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, collaboration, learning, and cross-team process improvement skills.
