Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, distributed software systems and other software projects.
- Design, develop, debug, support, maintain, and test software applications.
- Collaborate with teams across a broad range of applications and solutions.
- Consult with subject-matter experts on software solutions, architectures, strategies, and industry best practices.
- Improve code quality through unit tests, automation, and code reviews.
- Plan and execute application modernization, re-platforming, and refactoring efforts.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance and reduce technical debt.
- Deploy and manage data infrastructure on GCP or AWS in partnership with the SRE team.
- Own applications end to end, including incident response and post-incident reviews.
- Improve engineering quality, productivity, development velocity, and operational efficiency using automation, process improvement, and AI-enabled development tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience managing and deploying commercial software products.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux.
- Strong ability to triage and resolve data and performance issues.
- Proven expertise with Java and/or Scala, Python, Spark/PySpark, and scripting languages.
- Experience managing solutions on GCP or AWS using a broad range of available services.
- Experience working on large-scale distributed systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives in parallel.
- Experience with AI development tools including GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude.
- SDLC-tooling experience with Maven, GitHub, Jenkins, and Terraform.
- Demonstrated ownership, problem-solving, collaboration, continuous learning, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
