Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient software for complex applications and systems.
- Drive technical strategy and vision for major projects and initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional teams in designing, developing, and delivering large-scale software projects.
- Architect and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems in collaboration with architects.
- Solve complex technical problems, establish precedents, and influence technical decisions.
- Develop team policies, procedures, and techniques while prioritizing technical debt and outcomes.
- Monitor service health and quality, use telemetry, conduct root-cause analysis, and prevent recurring incidents.
- Advocate for engineering excellence and guide adoption of testing-pyramid practices.
- Oversee CI/CD build, test, and deployment processes and own software through production.
- Build testable software, automate tests, conduct code reviews, and maintain technical documentation.
- Mentor engineers and promote learning, continuous improvement, and service ownership.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and advocate for improvements in innovation and productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Deep expertise in one or more of C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Extensive experience with software architecture, design patterns, and scalable reliable systems in a DevOps model.
- Proven experience leading and delivering large-scale, complex software projects.
- Proficiency with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, and GCP, plus version control systems such as GitHub.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience building telemetry or observability into the development process.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD, familiarity with accessible technology development, expertise in a specialized technical discipline, and understanding of business challenges and regulatory factors.
