Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Java backend and full-stack applications using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational databases.
- Lead technical direction for modules and subsystems while remaining hands-on with implementation.
- Modernize legacy or monolithic Java applications into modular, cloud-ready, and potentially microservices-based architectures.
- Design and integrate RESTful APIs, backend services, data models, and API-, file-, and message-based integrations.
- Provide backend API support for Angular and React frontend teams.
- Perform technical trade-off analysis, contribute to architecture decisions, and apply object-oriented design patterns and layered or hexagonal architectures.
- Improve code quality, performance, scalability, maintainability, and production stability through testing, static analysis, profiling, memory analysis, and JVM tuning.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and global development teams through end-to-end product delivery.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to Agile/Scrum planning, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- MCA or bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful API design, SQL, Eclipse RCP, Angular, React, MongoDB, and AKS or similar technologies.
- Experience with microservices, service communication, integration patterns, Hibernate/JPA, transaction management, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Azure cloud-native development, Azure Service Bus or similar messaging systems, Docker, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle, unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, and SonarQube-based static code analysis.
- Proficiency in object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, layered or hexagonal architecture, clean coding, and automated testing.
- Experience in product development environments and understanding of product development lifecycle and Lean Agile/Scrum practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills, with a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Experience with shipping/logistics workflows or scientific data processing, event-driven systems, and Azure is advantageous.
