Base Salary

$95k - $119k/yr

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software and systems containing logical and mathematical solutions.
Contribute across the software development lifecycle from requirements through customer validation, deployment, and maintenance.
Develop and maintain software management and monitoring applications and embedded operating-system software used on Navy vessels.
Analyze system capabilities and user needs to resolve issues involving program intent, input and output requirements, programming techniques, and controls.
Collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers on electronic data-processing systems and software.
Develop operating instructions, compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems as needed.
Ensure software standards are met and provide technical exchanges with peers, customers, and software suppliers.

Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant exempt experience, or a master’s degree and three years of relevant professional experience, or a Ph.D. and zero years of experience.
Strong background in programming and troubleshooting embedded systems, Java applications, and Linux operating systems is preferred.
Foundational knowledge and experience with networking and virtual machines are preferred.
Experience using and interacting with relational databases for data-driven design is preferred.
Good communication skills for technical exchanges with peers, customers, and software suppliers are preferred.
U.S. citizenship is required.
An active Department of Defense security clearance is beneficial but not required to start.

Full-time, first-shift position with no telework eligibility and travel of up to 10% of the time.
