Base Salary
$95k - $119k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software and systems containing logical and mathematical solutions.
- Contribute across the software development lifecycle from requirements through customer validation, deployment, and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain software management and monitoring applications and embedded operating-system software used on Navy vessels.
- Analyze system capabilities and user needs to resolve issues involving program intent, input and output requirements, programming techniques, and controls.
- Collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers on electronic data-processing systems and software.
- Develop operating instructions, compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems as needed.
- Ensure software standards are met and provide technical exchanges with peers, customers, and software suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant exempt experience, or a master’s degree and three years of relevant professional experience, or a Ph.D. and zero years of experience.
- Strong background in programming and troubleshooting embedded systems, Java applications, and Linux operating systems is preferred.
- Foundational knowledge and experience with networking and virtual machines are preferred.
- Experience using and interacting with relational databases for data-driven design is preferred.
- Good communication skills for technical exchanges with peers, customers, and software suppliers are preferred.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active Department of Defense security clearance is beneficial but not required to start.
