Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain system security controls and operating procedures aligned with MOD and Rowden standards.
- Support cyber security assurance through documentation, testing, reporting, accreditation evidence, asset-register management, and audits.
- Conduct and support security risk assessments, threat modelling, vulnerability management, compliance monitoring, and incident-response improvements.
- Provide technical advice and hands-on security support to engineering teams across cloud, software, network, and far-edge deployments.
- Collaborate with project teams, external partners, assurance providers, and supply-chain organisations to deliver security requirements and deliverables.
- Represent Rowden in internal and external security forums.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cyber security engineering, ideally in defence, government, or critical-infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of Secure by Design, risk management, MOD security standards, and secure systems architecture.
- Hands-on experience securing cloud infrastructure, software, far-edge networking, integrated systems, and network controls.
- Familiarity with security accreditation processes including RMADS, JSP 440/604, and NCSC guidance.
- Ability to interpret and deliver against SOWs and SORs while working with external assurance providers.
- Strong communication, analytical, documentation, risk-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Desirable experience includes tactical networked C4I systems such as Opnet, multi-domain and cross-domain systems, LOS and BLOS communications, and UK Government LETacCIS programmes including DSA, Morpheus, Trinity, and Bowman.
- Extensive experience in software development environments and infrastructure delivery, ideally with a software-engineering foundation.
