Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, model, and implement business processes using BPMN and Camunda from requirements gathering through technical delivery.
- Develop and enhance performant Java backend components using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.
- Design and implement REST, SOAP, and messaging interfaces while coordinating with adjacent systems and teams.
- Create technical solution designs for cross-system process flows and integrate them into existing architectures.
- Contribute to the transformation and processing of large data volumes in distributed system landscapes.
- Coordinate with project participants and participate in exchange formats, primarily remotely with occasional on-site meetings.
- Create, execute, and document developer and integration tests.
- Maintain and continuously optimize existing software components in production operation.
- Create technical documentation including interface specifications, installation guides, and operations manuals.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of practical experience developing Java backend applications.
- Strong knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot and modern application frameworks.
- Extensive experience with distributed systems, microservice architectures, REST, SOAP, and messaging technologies.
- Practical experience with BPMN and workflow engines, especially Camunda, plus understanding of business-process modeling.
- Strong knowledge of databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA.
- Experience working with Linux systems and basic shell scripting.
- Proficiency with Git, Jenkins, Gradle, Jira, and Confluence.
- Structured, solution-oriented working style and ability to explain complex technical relationships clearly.
- Experience in the public sector or large, distributed IT landscapes is advantageous.
- Very good written and spoken German at C1 level.
