Responsibilities
- Architect, upgrade, design, and build scalable infrastructure using Kubernetes, AWS, and RDS.
- Drive infrastructure roadmap initiatives focused on reliability, recoverability, scalability, and capacity planning.
- Benchmark and stress test systems to identify bottlenecks and prepare for business growth.
- Define and maintain SLAs, alerts, anomaly detection, and observability practices.
- Improve infrastructure reliability, developer productivity, and internal tooling through AI and automation.
- Build consistency and scalability across distributed microservices while maintaining performance and reliability.
- Establish engineering practices for observability, security, and CI/CD.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering or infrastructure engineering experience, including significant SRE and backend experience.
- Recent experience deploying significant changes to a production application or infrastructure configuration.
- Strong proficiency in Golang and experience building and maintaining commercial APIs.
- Expertise with SQL-based relational databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL, with experience optimizing schemas and queries at scale.
- Proficiency with observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and New Relic.
- Understanding of distributed systems patterns such as transactional outbox, event-driven architecture, stream processing, and queues.
- Ability to introduce ideas, influence decisions, and lead complex technical initiatives.
- Experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience includes AWS Aurora RDS, data engineering, data pipelines, data warehousing, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, containerized microservices, and AI developer tools such as Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, and Cursor.
