Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate flexible and accurate financial systems for global communication services.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Identify and resolve billing-process bottlenecks and inefficiencies while ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture decisions.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members.
- Use AI across the development lifecycle and rigorously review AI-generated code for security, style, and compliance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with Java, SQL, and large datasets, plus familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Commitment to code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Effective teamwork and ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain the advantages and disadvantages of proposed technical approaches.
- Ability to use AI to innovate and add customer value.
- Startup experience or experience working independently in environments with less-defined requirements is a bonus.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog is a bonus.
- Practical Terraform experience is beneficial.
- Understanding of modern CI/CD practices, ideally with GitHub Actions, is a bonus.
