Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components using distributed state management and data-plane platforms.
- Optimize systems and code for large-scale data retrieval, storage, processing, and high-concurrency workloads.
- Build fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and recovery-oriented principles.
- Develop performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out testing scenarios to evaluate system correctness and availability.
- Create tests, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures for system health and failure recovery.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, participate in support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code tools for troubleshooting and cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance practices, and change-management procedures.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operational experience.
- Strong experience with data-plane architectures in networking devices and high-concurrency systems.
- Experience designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance network solutions using DPDK and C/C++.
- Working experience with Linux operating systems or kernels, device drivers, performance testing tools, and distributed debugging tools.
- Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.
- Ability to work in complex, rapidly evolving software development environments and learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, teamwork, and cross-team process improvement skills.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and significant experience in startup or fast-paced enterprise technology environments.
