Base Salary
$190k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop solutions for custom CPUs across the Linux kernel, boot firmware, low-level libraries, and related software.
- Define and enable future high-performance SoCs, platforms, and architectural features.
- Create performance optimizations and drivers for high-performance platforms.
- Collaborate with hardware and performance teams to identify optimization opportunities.
- Ensure operating systems run efficiently and identify performance enhancements.
- Develop and debug software virtual platforms and low-level boot firmware in pre-silicon and hardware environments.
- Work independently, communicate complex technical information to senior leadership and large groups, and influence key organizational decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 8+ years of Software Engineering or related experience; or a master's degree plus 7+ years; or a PhD plus 6+ years.
- 4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Deep understanding of computer architecture, high-performance designs, weak memory models, server platforms, and hardware/software interfaces.
- Proficiency in C, assembly language, and build systems, with systems-programming experience in Python or similar languages.
- Experience developing software virtual platforms, low-level boot firmware, and debugging tools for pre-silicon and on-hardware environments.
- Experience building to UEFI, ACPI, and SystemReady platform standards.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, 10+ years of high-performance software-stack experience, 15+ years of software-stack experience, and 10+ years of Linux kernel development.
