Base Salary
$171k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, architecture, implementation, and delivery of major systems and initiatives spanning multiple teams.
- Code and test system components, lead code and design reviews, and present significant designs for technical committee review.
- Own code quality, system tests, functional tests, integration, and interfaces between systems.
- Make decisions on ambiguous, complex technical problems and drive simplification and long-term technical excellence.
- Collaborate with UX and product teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
- Act as a recognized technical authority, guide engineering decisions across groups, and help shape company technical objectives.
- Mentor engineers and guide the work of others to raise the technical bar.
- Design and build reliable, scalable distributed systems, web services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience building and operating scalable, customer-facing software systems.
- Technical leadership experience designing architecture, making complex trade-offs, and driving engineering decisions across teams.
- Experience designing and building reliable, scalable distributed systems, including web services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to work through ambiguity, simplify complex problems, and deliver high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
- Experience integrating third-party platforms and SaaS products through APIs, events, and webhooks.
- Experience with ecommerce or marketplace systems, such as catalog, checkout, payments, or order management, is preferred.
- Experience building high-performance customer experiences, including frontend performance optimization, is preferred.
