Responsibilities
- Develop new backend applications, fix bugs, and expand features in existing applications.
- Design and develop multi-layer, cross-platform applications using software design patterns.
- Build and deliver solutions that meet stakeholder requirements and customer expectations.
- Design and review technical specifications and architecture.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and communication protocols.
- Troubleshoot and debug software and execute manual unit, unit, and integration testing.
- Provide timely information to stakeholders across the organization and collaborate with remote teams.
Requirements
- Commercial experience with core Java and strong object-oriented programming knowledge.
- Knowledge of the Java ecosystem, including containers, class loaders, data structures, streams, concurrency, and the JVM.
- Good knowledge of SQL and understanding of client-side and server-side architectures.
- Familiarity with Ant and Maven build tools and Microsoft development tools.
- Practical experience with software design principles, best practices, full-lifecycle projects, and formal software development methodologies.
- Working knowledge of OPC UA, Modbus, TCP/IP, and DNP3 communication protocols.
- Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science, a related engineering discipline, or equivalent qualification.
- 4–7 years of experience, including at least 3 years in software development.
- Preferred experience with WebSockets, Tomcat servlet engine, SQL Server, Apache Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and JUnit.
- Preferred networking knowledge, SCADA systems knowledge, renewable asset knowledge, and experience with Agile methodologies.
