Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Define and drive multi-year technical vision and architecture for reliable, extensible, large-scale product systems.
- Solve complex cross-cutting engineering problems spanning multiple systems, abstraction layers, and organizational boundaries.
- Establish coding standards, architectural patterns, and technical foundations that improve consistency and delivery velocity.
- Lead cross-functional, organization-wide technical initiatives from vision through execution, including stakeholder alignment and dependency management.
- Develop engineering excellence programs covering reliability standards, performance guardrails, and quality frameworks.
- Build technical safeguards addressing privacy, security, and integrity vulnerabilities in partnership with compliance and policy teams.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, candid feedback, and customized coaching.
- Communicate complex technical strategies and trade-offs to individual contributors, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
- Identify systemic failure patterns and develop architectural improvements that prevent recurring classes of problems.
- Recruit and develop engineers while strengthening technical and cultural standards across the engineering community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling large-scale software systems in high-traffic production environments.
- 12+ years of programming experience solving complex, cross-system technical problems through direct implementation.
- Experience leading multi-year technical roadmaps and cross-organizational engineering initiatives from vision through execution.
- Experience influencing technical direction across multiple teams and functions through written proposals, architectural reviews, and stakeholder alignment.
- Experience mentoring engineers across an organization and improving engineering culture through programs, standards, and direct coaching.
- Preferred: experience partnering with legal, policy, or compliance teams on privacy, security, or integrity requirements at scale.
- Preferred: track record of step-change product-system improvements through architectural rethinking or ground-up rebuilds.
- Preferred: experience defining and operationalizing organization-wide reliability, performance, or quality frameworks.
- Preferred: ability to integrate AI-assisted development practices and agent-based workflows to improve engineering productivity.
