Base Salary
$271k - $347k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive multi-year technical vision and architecture for reliable, extensible large-scale product systems.
- Solve complex cross-cutting engineering problems spanning multiple systems, abstraction layers, and organizational boundaries.
- Establish coding standards, architectural patterns, and technical foundations that improve engineering consistency and delivery velocity.
- Lead cross-functional execution of organization-wide technical initiatives, including stakeholder alignment, dependency management, milestones, and metrics.
- Develop and operationalize reliability standards, performance guardrails, and quality frameworks across teams.
- Design technical safeguards addressing privacy, security, and integrity vulnerabilities in partnership with compliance and policy teams.
- Mentor engineers across the organization through feedback, coaching, and technical guidance.
- Communicate technical strategies and trade-offs to individual contributors, executives, and other stakeholders.
- Identify systemic failure patterns and develop invariants and architectural improvements to prevent recurring problems.
- Recruit and develop engineers while strengthening technical and cultural standards across the engineering community.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience building large-scale applications or similar experience.
- 12+ years of programming experience.
- 8+ years of experience with web or mobile technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience communicating and working across functions to drive solutions.
- Experience driving large cross-functional or industry-wide engineering efforts.
- Experience mentoring and influencing engineers across organizations.
- Experience leading projects with industry-wide impact.
- Proven track record of planning multi-year roadmaps in which shorter-term projects support a long-term vision.
- Preferred: experience partnering with legal, policy, or compliance teams on privacy, security, or integrity requirements at scale.
- Preferred: experience delivering major product-system improvements through architectural rethinking or ground-up rebuilds.
- Preferred: experience defining and operationalizing reliability, performance, or quality frameworks at organizational or company-wide scale.
- Preferred: ability to integrate AI-assisted development practices and agent-based workflows to improve engineering productivity.
Benefits
- Base salary is $271,000/year to $347,000/year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
