Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, secure, and operate mission software and data platforms using agentic and AI-assisted workflows.
- Stand up and operate agentic development toolchains, including code, testing, review, copilot, and automation agents.
- Prototype mission capabilities and mature them into secure, reliable, scalable, observable production systems.
- Define and enforce guardrails for approved tools and models, data handling, secrets, provenance, auditability, prompting, and policy compliance.
- Establish evaluation and quality gates for AI-generated artifacts, including testing, static and security analysis, coding standards, CI checks, and human review.
- Architect, build, and operate distributed AWS and multi-cloud systems while managing performance, resilience, cost, and troubleshooting.
- Design and integrate APIs, backend services, data flows, data pipelines, and orchestration capabilities.
- Automate DevSecOps and CI/CD processes with supply-chain security, dependency and container scanning, IaC scanning, SAST/DAST, and policy-as-code controls.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, observability integrations, and compliance-ready evidence for AI-assisted engineering.
- Mentor engineers, establish engineering standards, advise sponsors and stakeholders, and support sustained programs and urgent mission needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with at least 3 years of related experience, or a PhD with relevant experience and the ability to contribute immediately.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and Python proficiency, including secure coding, code review, automated testing, and maintainable design patterns.
- Hands-on experience using agentic or AI-assisted development tools and integrating them into the software development lifecycle.
- Experience designing guardrails for AI-enabled engineering, including tool and model selection, prompt and context hygiene, secrets handling, provenance, auditability, and policy constraints.
- Experience establishing evaluation and quality practices for AI-generated outputs, including automated checks, unit and integration testing, static and security analysis, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Leadership and enablement skills, including mentoring, setting engineering standards, advising stakeholders or customers, and supporting responsible adoption.
- Active Secret U.S. government security clearance and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for security-clearance eligibility.
- Preferred: advanced technical degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: active Top Secret clearance and experience building, deploying, and operating LLM or agent systems such as RAG, tool or function calling, and orchestration frameworks in production or classified environments.
- Preferred: experience with LLM and agent evaluation, platform engineering, DevSecOps, CI/CD delivery platforms, artifact management, software supply-chain controls, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, observability, and model serving.
