Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs for the 1ExigerAI platform.
- Develop real-time alerting, workflow builder, and supply chain investigation capabilities.
- Own features and projects from technical design through development, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and design partners to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions.
- Build and maintain cloud-native applications using microservices, containerization, and modern infrastructure practices.
- Contribute to architecture, system design, scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability improvements.
- Troubleshoot production issues, improve observability, and support applications in live environments.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and help improve AI-enabled engineering workflows.
- Participate in code reviews, technical knowledge sharing, continuous delivery, daily deployments, and a Kanban development environment.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on backend software engineering experience building production-grade applications.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, or comparable backend technologies with willingness to learn the core stack.
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Understanding of databases, data modeling, and SQL.
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
- Understanding of system design, application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and supporting live applications.
- Familiarity with Kafka, ActiveMQ, or Redis for messaging and asynchronous processing.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools or strong interest in incorporating AI into engineering workflows.
- Ability to serve as a technical go-to person, design reusable components and architectural patterns, navigate technical tradeoffs, influence engineering practices, and mentor other engineers.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, ownership, accountability, and commitment to maintainable code.
