Base Salary
$200k - $288k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical coherence of a platform spanning globally distributed key-value storage, progressive release and configuration delivery, testing, and health mediation.
- Translate the needs of Cloudflare’s Edge and control-plane platforms into reusable system primitives.
- Write production code, design new systems, and review proposals from senior engineers.
- Lead Health Mediated Deployment projects tracked by Cloudflare senior leadership and founders.
- Drive technical decisions and organization-wide initiatives through influence, consensus building, mentoring, and architectural leadership.
- Help determine how to integrate LLMs into engineering processes and systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience leading complex, organization-wide technical initiatives with measurable improvements.
- Strong technical leadership and influence without direct authority, including cross-team consensus building, mentoring senior engineers, and establishing widely adopted architectural patterns.
- Experience designing, building, and managing high-volume, global-scale software applications.
- Expertise in at least one modern strongly typed programming language.
- Knowledge of API design standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience using top-tier LLMs to plan, write, test, and deploy software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a bias toward action.
- Experience scaling and simplifying high-scale configuration management systems is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Google’s Prodspec and Annealing systems is a bonus.
- Experience with Kubernetes, RocksDB or similar data stores, and large-scale health-checking and probe platforms is a bonus.
- Public evidence of technical leadership through conference talks, technical blog posts, open-source contributions, or adopted architectural patterns is a bonus.
