Responsibilities

  • Own the browser-driven BDD execution platform, including runners, lifecycle hooks, step definitions, UI abstractions, browser infrastructure, test data, CI configuration, and observability.
  • Improve Selenium WebDriver/Grid execution, browser and session lifecycle, synchronization, locators, assertions, cleanup, and failure recovery.
  • Eliminate shared state, test-order dependence, data collisions, incomplete teardown, and environment contamination through isolation, idempotency, and deterministic cleanup.
  • Profile and optimize discovery, setup, UI execution, teardown, evidence collection, queueing, scheduling, infrastructure waits, parallel efficiency, and long-tail behavior.
  • Classify and eliminate flakiness by root cause while governing reruns and quarantine with transparent ownership and exit criteria.
  • Extend browser-to-backend evidence and OpenTelemetry correlation so failures are diagnosable without manual reruns.
  • Define risk-based CI policies for blocking, asynchronous, quarantined, and informational coverage.
  • Direct agentic workers for test-gap analysis, scenario generation, failure clustering, flake investigation, performance analysis, refactoring, and browser-framework experiments.
  • Establish first-year baselines and measurable improvements for execution time, queueing, parallel efficiency, flake, infrastructure failures, quarantine age, and diagnosis time.

Requirements

  • Substantial software engineering, quality engineering, or test-platform experience with Staff or Principal-level influence and a recent hands-on record of changing framework or platform code.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Java or another JVM language, Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium WebDriver, and Selenium Grid or comparable distributed browser infrastructure.
  • Experience owning a large browser-driven BDD or end-to-end test estate with shared framework components, parallel execution, and multi-team adoption.
  • Strong understanding of browser and test lifecycle design, asynchronous behavior, frames, synchronization, locators, assertions, state isolation, setup and cleanup, and deterministic test data.
  • Experience profiling and improving execution performance, sharding, scheduling, queueing, tail latency, capacity, and infrastructure utilization.
  • Strong experience with Maven, GitLab/Jenkins or equivalent CI platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, environment orchestration, and pipeline-as-code.
  • Practical observability expertise using OpenTelemetry or comparable traces, metrics, logs, dashboards, and correlated failure evidence.
  • Experience directing AI coding or test-engineering agents through bounded tasks, context design, output review, repeated-run validation, and prevention of automation shortcuts.
  • Preferred experience includes Playwright, WebDriver BiDi, browser-framework migration or coexistence, retail POS or payments, edge environments, statistical flake analysis, queueing optimization, service virtualization, seeded data, and Docker-orchestrated dependencies.

Benefits

  • Direct employment by Toshiba with 100% payroll status.
  • IMSS, INFONAVIT, December day voucher, and vacation voucher benefits.
  • Life insurance and major medical expense coverage with dental and vision coverage for the employee and direct family members.
  • Minor medical expense insurance.
  • Employee savings fund capped at the legal limit.
  • Grocery coupons.
  • Pension plan.
  • 12 vacation days plus 6 floating days.
