Base Salary
$150k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Translate design specifications, use cases, and rough ideas into features from early prototypes through production.
- Push software across multiple layers to close the gap between the desired design language and current platform capabilities.
- Advise designers on system capabilities early enough to influence design decisions.
- Shape UI runtime and system architecture based on requirements from real designs.
- Own end-to-end user experience development alongside design, firmware, and hardware partners.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional UI software development experience.
- Experience working inside or closely with a design team.
- Ability to rapidly prototype and build realistic interactive prototypes in days.
- Deep runtime knowledge of at least one major UI framework, such as UIKit, SwiftUI, Core Animation, Jetpack Compose, Flutter, or a web-based rendering engine.
- Direct experience with or exposure to embedded systems or operating system work, including system daemons, IPC, HAL, drivers, or firmware.
- Proficiency in at least one of C, C++, Rust, or Swift, with the ability to trace code across language and process boundaries.
- Ability to work with incomplete information in uncharted problem spaces while driving quality and results.
- Preferred experience shipping system-level UI applications or UI frameworks and graphics stacks on iOS or Android.
- Preferred experience contributing to widely adopted open-source UI libraries.
- Preferred experience using Figma, Origami, Rive, or Principle and turning design outputs into production animations.
- Preferred experience building UI design tools such as component libraries, visual or node-graph editors, or interactive prototyping environments.
- Preferred experience building interfaces driven by voice, vision, sensors, or ML models, including interfaces generated by an AI agent at runtime.
