Responsibilities
- Develop embedded controller firmware and workstation applications for industrial automation systems.
- Implement PLC programming capabilities, deterministic control execution, industrial communications, diagnostics, configuration, visualization, and system management workflows.
- Write software in C and C++ and contribute to real-time distributed computing across Linux and VxWorks RTOS environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams through code reviews, sprint planning, retrospectives, hackathons, and technical communities.
- Author and review structured software specifications and apply spec-driven and AI-assisted development workflows.
- Write automated unit tests and contribute to system-level testing, automation pipelines, release readiness, and process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline plus 5+ years of experience, or a master’s degree plus 3+ years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of embedded software development using C, C++, C#, or Rust.
- Knowledge of Linux and/or VxWorks RTOS concepts, including real-time execution, concurrency, memory management, and debugging.
- Strong problem-solving skills and interest in complex, distributed control systems.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Preferred qualifications include embedded firmware or workstation application development, PLCs and industrial automation, real-time distributed computing, industrial networking protocols, distributed systems, edge computing, industrial IoT, Git, automated testing, CI pipelines, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and structured development processes.
