Base Salary
$200k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software improvements for SATCOM RF awareness and operational SATCOM ground systems.
- Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Build backend APIs and supporting services using GoLang, Java, C#, and Python.
- Integrate real-time operational data from tracking, sensor, communications, environmental, and situational-awareness systems.
- Design and optimize client-side and server-side data flows for real-time, historical, time-windowed, and geospatial data.
- Work with MongoDB and SQLite databases and prepare external-service data for ingest.
- Build reliable software for disconnected, degraded, and austere environments.
- Improve performance, observability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, code reviews, and engineering planning.
- Create automated tests and maintain type-checking, linting, build, and release quality gates.
- Collaborate with product owners, domain experts, operators, and engineers to translate operational needs into usable software.
Requirements
- Ability to hold a TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ten or more years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong professional experience with TypeScript and JavaScript and strong experience building production React applications.
- Experience designing and implementing backend services and APIs with GoLang or a similar language.
- Experience with relational or document-oriented databases, preferably MongoDB, SQLite, or similar.
- Ability to work across frontend, backend, data, and deployment concerns.
- Experience writing maintainable, tested, production-quality code.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, API design, error handling, logging, and operational diagnostics.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems across multiple services and runtime environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
- Preferred experience includes C# desktop applications, offline-first or disconnected operations, real-time streaming protocols, operational data systems, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, CI/CD, production release automation, high-volume visualization and streaming-data optimization, formal security or configuration-management processes, and mentoring or leading technical work.
Benefits
- Basic compensation is $200,000–$275,000.
