Base Salary
$129k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver secure, maintainable software capabilities, backend services, RESTful APIs, and distributed cloud-native systems.
- Build and operate ETL/ELT data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, validation, publishing, and workflow orchestration.
- Develop data models, SQL, database access patterns, migrations, and data quality strategies using PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Implement containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes and provision Linux environments using Terraform and Ansible.
- Engineer DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines with security and quality gates and repeatable release processes.
- Collaborate with UX, architecture, data, security, and operations teams to define technical strategy and influence roadmaps.
- Produce design documents, RFCs, and runbooks; lead architecture reviews, incident response, and post-incident learning.
- Mentor engineers and improve engineering standards through code reviews, design sessions, compliance, and observability integration.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a master’s degree, or relevant experience with a PhD; equivalent combinations of education and work experience may qualify.
- Strong Python development experience and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience building distributed systems in AWS or multi-cloud environments.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, RESTful APIs, data pipelines, Linux, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or MongoDB and modern web technologies including React, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
- Ability to work in Agile environments with strong documentation practices.
- Active Secret U.S. government security clearance and eligibility to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance within one year; U.S. citizenship is required for security-clearance eligibility.
- Preferred qualifications include an advanced technical degree, compliance-aligned software delivery, AWS data platforms, Airflow, Kafka, advanced cloud automation, Splunk, mission analysis or test and evaluation, AFSIM, production operations, and agentic development tools.
