Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications and backend services.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend integrations.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions and perform code reviews.
- Write unit, integration, and automated tests.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support root-cause analysis.
- Improve application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Contribute to technical documentation and continuous process improvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Java development and backend service development.
- Knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Boot, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, SQL, relational databases, and JPA, Hibernate, or similar ORM frameworks.
- Strong unit and integration testing experience using JUnit, Mockito, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with Git, code reviews, debugging, and static code analysis.
- Knowledge of application security, authentication, and authorization.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, independence, and ownership skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Engineer III typically requires 6+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with microservices, distributed systems, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, reactive programming, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, Kafka, RabbitMQ, monitoring, observability, performance tuning, OpenAPI, Swagger, GraphQL, frontend technologies, UI testing, regulated environments, mentoring, or technical leadership.
