Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Build backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
- Develop reusable frontend components, custom hooks, and modular application architectures.
- Integrate APIs with internal and third-party systems, including asynchronous operations and error handling.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control for secure application functionality and sensitive data.
- Create responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces based on UI/UX designs and accessibility practices.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement maintainable solutions.
- Protect sensitive healthcare information in application code, logs, integrations, and error handling.
- Own assigned features from technical design and implementation through testing and delivery.
- Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, technical risk management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for application components, APIs, and integrations.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency, quality, and development workflows.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on fullstack web application development.
- Advanced proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong experience developing backend applications and RESTful APIs with Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
- Experience designing Single Page Applications, reusable components, custom hooks, and modular frontend architectures.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs, tool calling, or agentic AI workflows into software applications.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, secure application development, software architecture, design patterns, and clean coding principles.
- Experience with automated testing, including Jest, React Testing Library, or similar frameworks.
- Experience developing responsive and accessible web applications and familiarity with WCAG accessibility guidelines.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, ownership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: healthcare or regulated-environment experience and familiarity with HL7 FHIR.
- Preferred: experience with Medplum or similar healthcare platforms, HIPAA, and Protected Health Information requirements.
- Preferred: backend development using Python or other server-side technologies.
- Preferred: experience using Figma to implement UI designs and collaborate with design teams.
- Preferred: experience with Spec-Driven Development or AI-driven Software Development Lifecycle practices.
