Base Salary
$197k - $307k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy perception algorithms for human detection, hazard understanding, safety, and efficiency.
- Evaluate emerging perception research and determine which models should be incorporated into future robot architectures.
- Establish best practices for model design, implementation, testing, verification, and validation, especially for rare safety-critical scenarios.
- Optimize deep neural networks and data pipelines for efficient execution on embedded CPU and GPU systems.
- Collaborate with navigation, controls, and hardware teams to integrate perception across the robot.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning or robotics perception.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in artificial intelligence, robotics, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience building machine learning or perception systems for safety-critical, safety-rated, automotive, robotics, or comparable regulated contexts.
- Deep expertise in convolutional neural networks, multi-object tracking, human detection, data association, supervised learning, and pose estimation.
- Experience designing and optimizing algorithms for CPU and GPU architectures.
- Experience with MLOps, including data annotation services, data storage, model evaluation tools, and model deployment.
- Publications in perception or related fields, preferably at CVPR, ICCV, RSS, or ICRA.
- Preferred experience with humanoid or legged robots, camera/lidar/infrared-camera sensor modalities, traditional geometric computer vision, and sensor hardware.
