Base Salary
$94k - $232k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop territory plans, account strategies, and sales plans with account teams and specialist resources.
- Create technical account plans, qualify customer business and technical needs, and engage senior IT decision-makers.
- Translate business requirements into technical solution requirements, including sizing, delivery approach, deployment timelines, and resource needs.
- Architect and sell data-management solutions involving backup and recovery, data migration, replication, compliance, and related capabilities.
- Present and demonstrate Commvault products through presentations, whiteboarding, pilots, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts.
- Coordinate technical experts, support deal acceptance, and collaborate with sales, support, product management, marketing, development, channel, and alliance teams.
- Provide technical enablement for channel and alliance partners and maintain current technical and market expertise.
- Document activities and opportunities in Salesforce.com and communicate important issues to management and internal teams.
- Contribute to product and process improvements and participate in sales, regional, and business review meetings.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the software or storage industry.
- 3+ years of proven experience in a pre-sales sales engineer role.
- Experience presenting, selling, and supporting enterprise or commercial clients and territories.
- Experience conducting proof-of-concepts and architecting data-management solutions.
- Strong competitive knowledge, consultative selling skills, and experience with case creation or TCO modeling preferred.
- Experience with at least one major open-systems operating system, hypervisor, or cloud.
- Exposure to enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle, Exchange, Db2, or SharePoint.
- Knowledge of storage, servers, networking, cloud, and hyper-convergence infrastructure technologies.
- Experience managing at least three major Fortune 500–1000 accounts.
- Knowledge of common software licensing practices, including cloud, perpetual, term, and maintenance licensing.
- Experience with sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, TAS, SPIN, Solution Selling, or Challenger.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work autonomously and in an organized, procedural manner using tools such as Salesforce.com.
- Ability to work in a rapid-growth environment and travel up to 50%.
