Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and support firmware and diagnostic software for complex hardware systems.
  • Contribute to hardware bring-up, system validation, manufacturing diagnostics, and field diagnostics.
  • Triage and debug hardware and firmware issues using structured evidence and low-level diagnostic methods.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, product engineering, validation, field support, and customer-facing teams.
  • Document technical findings and deliver well-defined technical tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Typically 1 to 3 years of experience in embedded firmware, diagnostics, hardware validation, board bring-up, or system-level debugging.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and working knowledge of one or more scripting languages, including Python, Tcl, Bash, or Perl.
  • Understanding of embedded systems, firmware interfaces, hardware registers, boot flows, device drivers, and low-level debugging.
  • Experience with serial consoles, JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, laboratory power equipment, or hardware telemetry logs.
  • Ability to interpret hardware specifications, schematics, interface documents, diagnostic procedures, and test plans.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese.
  • Preferred experience with FPGA-based prototyping systems, hardware emulation platforms, high-speed interconnects, board management firmware, or hardware diagnostic frameworks.
  • Preferred familiarity with Ethernet/IP reachability, blade-to-blade connectivity, cable discovery, voltage/current/temperature telemetry, clock synchronization, memory tests, and peripheral validation.
  • Preferred experience with automated regression testing, build systems, release qualification, and firmware or diagnostic software workflows.
  • Preferred experience supporting geographically distributed engineering, validation, product engineering, field service, or customer-facing support teams.
