Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and test simulation software for military training and analysis.
- Contribute to software architecture decisions, technical design reviews, requirements analysis, and system design.
- Integrate models and simulations with C4ISR systems, data sources, and external interfaces using DIS, HLA, and DDS.
- Translate operational military requirements into scalable and reusable software components.
- Develop simulation scenarios, models, and system behaviors that meet fidelity and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, subject matter experts, and military users to validate simulation capabilities.
- Support software standards, security guidelines, configuration management, system integration testing, and troubleshooting.
- Create technical documentation including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of relevant software development experience.
- At least two years of software development experience; modeling and simulation experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages including C++, C#, Java, or Python.
- Experience with simulation frameworks such as HLA, DIS, or similar modeling and simulation tools.
- Understanding of software engineering best practices, Agile/Scrum methodologies, testing, and quality assurance.
- Desired experience includes DoD modeling and simulation standards and tools, including STOW, RTI, and SISO standards.
- Desired qualifications include distributed systems, real-time processing, GIS, terrain databases, synthetic environment generation, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and independent-work skills.
