Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and update firmware, control systems, and programmable logic devices for mass spectrometer instruments.
- Map requirements to specifications and architect embedded system solutions.
- Contribute to the conceptualization, design, and development of new mass spectrometry products.
- Collaborate with solution architects and software, electrical, and mechanical developers on system design.
- Identify subsystems and interfaces, ensure firmware conforms to documented architecture, and mitigate technical risks.
- Analyze emerging embedded technologies and translate their implications into technical vision and strategy.
- Support cross-functional collaboration, customer-focused application development, and management of multiple priorities.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a Computer Engineering degree with hardware experience.
- At least 5 years of experience.
- C/C++ programming and FPGA development using VHDL.
- Linux application development and kernel image creation experience.
- Strong understanding of real-time software development and multithreading concepts.
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics and understand digital electronic circuitry and control system concepts.
- Experience with Xilinx Vivado, Eclipse-based embedded development, and system architecture design.
- Familiarity with Ethernet, TCP/IP, USB, Wi-Fi, SPI, RS-485, CAN, and I2C communication protocols.
- Strong oral, written, presentation, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, and negotiation skills.
- Xilinx Zynq-based development, analog electronic circuitry development, and web development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are assets.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
